What Air Filter Indicator Light Means

It lists four stages the icon moves through: GOOD, with the icon lit blue; ORDER a replacement, lit yellow; REPLACE air filter, lit red with "Replace Filter" shown; and EXPIRED, lit red with "Replace Filter" flashing. It adds that at any stage, holding the AIR FILTER button for 3 seconds resets the status to Good and turns the icon off.

- A filter that has reached the end of the interval the control counts
- A new filter fitted without the status being reset afterwards
- The AIR FILTER button tapped rather than held for the full three seconds

Replace the filter first, then clear the counter: hold the AIR FILTER button for three seconds and the icons go out, with the icon returning to blue and "Replace Filter" leaving the panel. Nothing needs powering down and nothing needs opening - the filter housing is inside the fresh-food compartment and the reset is a button on the panel in front of you.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There is no fault here and no hazard in it, so the one way to turn this into a problem is to read a lit icon as a reason to open a control panel.
- A filter left well past EXPIRED breaks nothing, but it quietly stops doing the only job it has, which is the whole reason the counter exists.
