KitchenAid KFGG500ESS

Model # KFGG500ESS · current generation

The KFGG500ESS is one of KitchenAid’s current 30″ gas ranges, pairing a 5-burner cooktop with Even-Heat True Convection and AquaLift’s lower-temperature, water-based self-clean cycle instead of a traditional high-heat burn. AquaLift is efficient on everyday soil but isn’t designed to lift heavy, baked-on spills in one pass, which is the most common “the self-clean didn’t work” call we get on this model rather than an actual fault.

Key Features

  • 30" freestanding gas range, 5.8 cu. ft. oven
  • 5 sealed burners from 5,000 to 18,000 BTU
  • Even-Heat™ True Convection with bow-tie element/fan design
  • Cast iron griddle, nearly edge-to-edge grates
  • AquaLift® self-clean (low-heat, water-based cleaning)

FAQ

KitchenAid KFGG500ESS FAQ

AquaLift uses steam at a lower temperature than a traditional self-clean cycle, so it's excellent for routine maintenance but may need a repeat cycle or manual wipe-down after a heavy, baked-on spill — that's normal operation, not a fault.

Usually not. A clicking igniter that won't light is typically a worn igniter or a burner port clogged with debris, one of the more affordable, routine range repairs.
