What Indicator Flashing Means

With every control off, lift anything resting on or near the control area - a pan, a lid, a cloth - and clean the touch panel thoroughly, drying it afterwards. On a range that panel sits in the splash zone of a working cooktop, so this is a realistic cause rather than a formality. If the indicator keeps flashing, disconnect power at the circuit breakers, reconnect after one minute and verify the cooktop operates.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A control panel that registers presses nobody is making can also select a cooking area nobody chose, which on a range with a hot cooktop is a reason to clear it promptly.
- Once the glass is clean and the indicator still flashes, the touch control under it is what remains, and that is not reached from the kitchen side of the cooktop.
- On a gas model the supply line and its shut-off are behind the range, so moving the appliance means the gas off first and the connection tested afterwards - not an owner step.
