What FC E9 Means
Freestanding and slide-in Range: FC E9 is published with the sentence that there may be a problem with the Wi-Fi power module, or the associated wiring. FC E9 carries the same power module wording as FC E6, published separately. The power module supplies the connectivity hardware, so this is a component-level connectivity code rather than a description of a failed link. As with the rest of the FC family on a range, nothing about cooking is implicated.

- The Wi-Fi power module failing or not being supplied correctly
- Wiring between the power module and the connectivity hardware disturbed
- A supply interruption that left the module in a faulted state
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If you want to try the standard step, power the range down by switching off its circuit breakers for one minute, power it back up, watch it for one minute to be sure the code does not return, and verify the range operates. Beyond that there is nothing at the range for an owner to do about FC E9, and no reason to hurry, because the appliance cooks normally with the code showing. If the connected features matter to you, book it as a convenience repair and mention that the code names the power module specifically.

- The module is a connectivity component, so effort spent opening the range over it is effort spent on a feature rather than on anything that affects cooking.
- It sits inside the appliance, which has to be moved and isolated - and on a gas model have its supply shut off - before anything is reachable.
- Board-level connectivity hardware is not repaired in place, so an owner attempt achieves nothing a technician would not redo.
