What FC E8 Means
Freestanding and slide-in Range: FC E8 is a registration code rather than a fault. KitchenAid publishes two causes, both to do with what was entered during setup. If the SAID number was entered incorrectly, the registration error appears, and the instruction is to try entering the number again, with a pointer to the section of its guide explaining where to find that number. The second cause is that the appliance type and model number have to be selected at the beginning of the registration process, and choosing the wrong appliance type or model number produces the same error.

Nothing at the range needs touching. Go back through the registration in the app and check the two things KitchenAid names: that the SAID number has been entered exactly as printed, character for character, and that the appliance type and model selected at the start match the range you actually own. A range registered as a different appliance type will fail every time however carefully the rest is typed. The oven and cooktop work normally throughout.
