What F06 Means
Freestanding and slide-in Range: F06 is published with the sentence that there may be a problem with the electronic control, or the associated wiring. F06 is the three-character form printed on certain range displays and is kept as its own page. Read the exact form on your display, because this family prints control faults in several ways and the pages behind them are not interchangeable. 🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the oven cavity and the cooktop cool before you do anything, and put every surface knob at off. A range holds heat in its grates or its glass long after the controls are off. Do the reset at the breaker: power the range down by switching off its circuit breakers for one minute, power it back up, watch it for one minute to be sure the code does not return, and verify the range operates. If F06 returns, note whether it appears immediately on power-up or only once a cycle has been started, because a fault present from cold and one that needs heat to appear point in different directions behind the same characters.

- The electronics named here permit heating, so a range that keeps reporting the fault should be left off at the breaker rather than used and watched.

- On a gas model the supply line and its shut-off are behind the range, so moving the appliance means the gas off first and the connection tested afterwards - not an owner step.
