What FC E4 Means

FC E4 is one of two codes naming the antenna, each published separately. That is a narrower claim than the router-connection codes in the same family: rather than describing a link that will not establish, it names a component inside the appliance. The oven's cooking functions are not affected, which is worth saying plainly before anyone books a service visit over a connectivity code. KitchenAid adds a note to the pages in this family that is worth knowing: the error code may display in F# E# format or in E# F# format, so the same fault can appear with the two halves swapped.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There is nothing to do at the appliance beyond the standard reset if you want to try it: power the oven down by switching off its circuit breakers for one minute, power it back up, watch it for one minute to be sure the code does not return, and verify the oven operates. Because FC E4 names a component rather than a link, resetting the router is less likely to help here than it is with the connection codes - but it costs nothing to rule out. The oven goes on cooking normally in the meantime, so there is no urgency attached to this one.

- This is a connectivity component and nothing to do with heating, so opening an appliance over it is effort spent on a feature rather than on safety.
- The antenna sits inside the appliance housing, which has to come out of the cabinet opening with the circuit isolated before it is reachable.
- An antenna lead disturbed while poking about is easily damaged further, turning a connectivity code into a replaced module.
