What F0 E0 Means
Built-In Microwave, including the microwave-oven combination: this is KitchenAid's catch-all, and it says so. Its text reads "This is an error code that will appear when the electronic oven control can not recognize what type of problem has occurred," followed by "There may be a problem with a component of the oven control system, the Electronic Control, or the associated wiring." The appliance knows something is wrong and cannot classify it, which is a different and more honest statement than naming a part it is not sure about.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the appliance cool and cut power at the breaker for a full minute, restore it, and watch for a minute - and then, more importantly, watch for a few days. A catch-all code that never returns and one that returns under a particular function are two entirely different problems, and only you can tell a technician which you have.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A code that explicitly means the appliance cannot identify its own fault is the worst possible basis for buying a part, because there is nothing in it to aim at.
- The high-voltage capacitor inside a microwave can hold a lethal charge after the unit is unplugged and the display is dead, so the inside of the cabinet is not an owner check at any point in this process, whatever the code turns out to mean.
- A built-in microwave is trimmed into a cabinet run and carries its weight on a frame, so it comes out of the wall before anything inside it can be reached - not a step to improvise alone.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
