Check first whether you have set boost on two areas in the same zone, because the cooktop will only hold it on one - the one set last - and the other drops back. Then check the glass above the control unit for water or utensils and move them, wiping the surface dry. Confirm the pan itself suits the zone: a magnet should grip the base, the diameter should be large enough, and it should be centred, with no more than about half an inch of overhang. Switching the cooking area off and on again after that re-establishes the setting.

- This is documented behaviour rather than damage, and the power level moving down is the cooktop protecting itself from heat it cannot shed fast enough.
- Oversized pans reduce performance on induction, so chasing a boost that will not hold with the wrong pan is chasing something the cookware is causing.
- If the display keeps flashing with one boost set, a clear glass and correct cookware, the control is reporting something beyond the function's normal behaviour, and that is under a sealed glass top.
